Lost Moments

Lost Moments is a collection of large format still lives constructed with sentimental fabrics centered around themes of childhood play, the passage of time, and the seeking of shelter or safe spaces. The black-and-white images were created during a time of growth and serve as a landmark of moving on from the past self. What is left behind, often marks the time that has passed by, and signals the play that once happened in these spaces.

A thick darkness cradles these objects when we no longer are able to hold possession of them. Suspended in a place between action and absence. The still air tries to whisper the stories that once happened but is too quiet to fall on the ears of even those intently listening.

The images playfully reflect on the materiality and sensory effect of memory.

A deep need to preserve the past, yet a reality of letting go.
