Beyond a Daydream

These self-portraits immersed in nature, demonstrate a wonder with the natural elements through a daydream. I have explored almost an ancestral understanding of the thickets and stones and communicated with the earth itself. My own connections are shown in the photographs, I stand in the woodlands, I am looking for myself. I hope to invite the viewer to discover nature as if for the first time.

My intentions are to ignite and spark the curiosity I felt as a child with the outdoors in others, seeing the world through the eyes of my own 6-year-old self. This work demonstrates nature as told as a story, a memory. How would we experience the world if we were only able to imagine it?

The human experience is merged with nature in an elegant gesture, exploring the landscape as the Gods did once before, or as written in fairytales. These self-portraits capture my own love, connections, and wonder with the environment, caught up in a daydream.
